The annual rating, coordinated by the Portland Business Journal’s staff members, is a way to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of those Oregon companies held in high regard by CEOs and other top corporate executives. The Most Admired rating results from surveying more than 2,000 CEOs and top-level managers (one executive per company) throughout the state. In the survey, the CEOs were asked to select three companies they admired most in each of eight industries: technology, agriculture, nonprofits, health care, financial services, professional services, commercial real estate and traditional manufacturers. The agriculture category is defined as timber, wood products, farming, ranching and food processing. Each top-ten company is featured in a special edition of the Portland Business Journal, which was published on Dec. 7, 2007.
